I have lodged a property claim with my insurance company. What happens before repair works commence?
Your insurance company will most likely appoint an independent loss adjuster to manage your claim…sometimes the insurer will manage claims internally. In either case, they will request a builder to inspect the damage.
You will be contacted by Intebuild within 24 hours of a request being received from your insurer or loss adjuster. We will arrange for an Intebuild Building Supervisor to inspect the damage. Your insurer may instruct Intebuild to begin repairs immediately; alternatively, your insurer may ask Intebuild to provide a quotation for the repairs. In either case, as soon as we receive authorization to proceed with works and the appropriate contract paperwork is returned, we will contact you and arrange to commence works.
There is an excess fee applicable to my insurance claim. How do I pay this?
As a preferred builder for your insurance company, we are required to collect payment of your excess fee on their behalf… this payment is passed on to your insurer. Please note works cannot commence at your property until your excess has been paid. See the section on Pay My Excess for the methods of payment.
My Insurer has approved Intebuild to begin repairs and will be covering the costs so why do I have to sign a contract with Intebuild?
Under Queensland Building Legislation any building works on your property must be covered by a contract between you (the property owner) and the builder. This contract protects you under law. Signing this contract does not make you liable for the costs of the work; however it is not legal for the works to commence before this contract is in place.
Repair works have commenced and are underway on my property. Who can I speak to regarding an update?
A Project Supervisor is assigned to manage the works at your property until completion. You can contact your Project Supervisor via email or by direct phone number. If you are unsure who your Supervisor is, please call us on 3550 4888 and we will gladly connect you. You can be assured of personal attention from your Project Supervisor.
Intebuild has completed all building repairs at my property but I have misplaced the Repair Completion Notice form I was sent originally. How can I get another copy?
You can download an additional (blank) form from the Forms section of this website, or contact us and we will post or email another form out to you.
I would like to provide Intebuild with feedback on the works completed at my property. How can I do this?
